Originally
millwrights and agricultural engineers Bruntons began manufacturing
propellers in 1908. World War One provided the company and its staff
with a steep learning curve and by the end of the war the company
had already achieved an excellent reputation in the marine field.
In 1958 Bruntons joined forces with Stone Manganese Marine who manufacture
propellers for the largest ships and this gave Bruntons access to
unique metallurgy and marine technology skills. A more recent partnership
with Stone Marine Singapore Pty has allowed the development of a
sophisticated and competitive manufacturing facility which is more
than able to cope with the demands of high quality, competitive
pricing and reliable delivery.
Today, Bruntons and its sister companies are an integral part of
one of the world’s largest specialist propeller manufacturers,
Langham Industries. Apart from the UK this privately owned group
has operations in Canada, South Africa and Singapore and its UK
portfolio of companies also includes Portland Harbour, Stone Foundries
and Tridan Engineering.
As part of Langham Industries Bruntons benefits from continuing
investment which has enabled the company to develop a diverse portfolio
of fixed and variable pitch propellers, together with a full range
of supporting products and services – a total propulsion solution!
